Rapid Action Red Octenol emits a scent that mimics human breath and sweat, attracting mosquitoes and midges to the mosquito trap. The scent acts as a "lure" that enhances the trap's effectiveness. Octenol is sometimes mistaken for octanol, but they are two different chemical compounds with distinct properties. The product is available in three colors, with the red version specifically designed for floodwater mosquitoes, subway mosquitoes, tiger mosquitoes, marsh mosquitoes, and other newly introduced mosquito species in Sweden. This is because the red scent tablet contains a blend of lactic acid and octenol, which has been shown to be attractive to these species. It is also suitable for warmer climates in Southern Europe, Asia, and Africa.

The scent lasts for about 4 weeks.

Other important information

• Follow the instructions that come with the product. Never disassemble or cut the Octenol cartridge itself (ie the hard plastic cover). If you do this, you may be in direct contact with the Octenol agent inside the cartridge. Use in ways other than those stated herein may cause higher concentrations which may be harmful and irritating.
• In case of ingestion of the Octenol agent inside the cartridge, immediately call the Poison Center or a doctor for advice. Let the person drink water in small sips.
• If a person is inhaled for high concentration of Octenol, then provide fresh air and rest.
• Unused cartridges are kept cool and dry.
